Snowball was surrendered by his family at 7 years old due to

sudden unforeseen "allergies". The poor little thing was terrifed and yearning to go back home, the only home he had ever known.

He was confused and not aware of what had just happened. Unfortunately, as with most older dogs at high-kill shelters, 

Snowball's fate was all but sealed when he was placed on the "urgent" list to be put down. A beautiful healthy little boy with nothing but love to give was about to be handed a terrible fate. 

 

As luck would have it UNWANTED NYC PETS stepped in to save this older boy's life. From death's door to the loving arms of his foster mom Ellen, Snowball's late night journey was the beginning of his new life. As we spent time with Snowball, he revealed to us a

beautiful, housebroken, obedient dog that knew cues like "sit", 

"kisses", "down", and "speak"! He was eager to please as his tiny

tail continuously wagged for every little praise he received. We knew that at some point in his life, he was loved and cared for.

 

With those big brown eyes and sweet disposition, it did not take long for this bundle of love to be scooped up by a wonderful, loving,

adoptive home. Snowball is 7 years young, and has so many more years of love to give his new parents. When looking to add a four-legged member to your family, please consider adopting an "older" pet, you will be so thankful you gave them the second chance they

so deserve.
